One in a series of 4 paintings I have done.Abstract in style, the paintings were done using a palette knife, my fingers and thumb. I painted using the paint straight from the tube onto the canvas or the relevant tool.Patterns that I had in mind when I began these paintings were inspired by nature - leaves, twigs, drops of rain. I also had an image of a tribal decoration which kept appearing in my head - I think the repetitive dots and upright lines convey this sort of feeling.

Acrylic painting of a derelict outbuilding on a farm in our village. I love the way the upper half of the door is almost inviting you in to have a look. I took a photo of the building as a reference point. The painting is even more memorable to me now as the farm and surrounding buildings are all demolished. New houses are being built there.
